Proposed crosswalk at Ferrini and Foothill

FoothillTomorrow evening, a group of parents will ask City Council to support a proposed crosswalk at the intersection of Ferrini and Foothill.

They are asking Pacheco and Bishop’s Peak parents to show their support by attending the meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Supporters will be asked to stand during the public comment period at the beginning of the meeting.

The crosswalk is already in the approved city bike plan. Last week, the city’s Bicycle Advisory Committee voted to prioritize it. Now parents will ask the City of SLO to prioritize funding.

This unmarked crossing point is used by cyclists and pedestrians before and after school, and students often try to cross four lanes of fast-moving traffic. It is also used by pedestrians who are crossing Foothill to get to the bus stop.
