What’s a Walk-a-Thon?
Think of it as a giant Panther party on the field to raise money for Pacheco Elementary! Our kids spend the morning walking, jogging, or running laps while classmates, teachers, and families cheer them on. We’ll have music, Popsicles, and plenty of orange slices! It’s fun, it’s active, and it’s one of Pacheco’s favorite traditions.
This year our Walk-a-Thon is happening October 17th!
Why do we do it?
Our Walk-a-Thon is by far our most successful fundraiser of the school year, providing for around half of our PTA budget. It’s more than just exercise and fundraising, though. It’s community in action. It gives students a chance to be active, set personal goals, and work together toward a common purpose. It also helps teach the value of participation, perseverance, and giving back to their school.
How does it work?
A donation page will be created for your student on 99Pledges.com and the link will be emailed to you.
Students can share this page however their family chooses to and ask friends and family to pledge a flat donation or contribute for each lap the student completes.
Donation sheet and envelop will also be sent home to collect donations the good old fashion way, with checks or cash!
On Walk-a-Thon Day, kids will walk, jog, or run around the marked track while parents, teachers, and other students cheer them on! The time slot assigned to each grade will be made available so that you can be there to cheer your Panther on!

We cannot do this without help from you! There are so many volunteer opportunities available!
